Turkish, Somali presidents meet to discuss their nations relations

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan hosted Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in Ankara on Friday for a private discussion focused on deepening bilateral ties and addressing regional developments, according to Türkiye’s Communications Directorate.

The meeting, held at the Presidential Complex, centered on ways to enhance cooperation between the two nations. President Erdogan affirmed that Türkiye is committed to expanding its partnership with Somalia and pledged to take additional steps to further strengthen the relationship.

He also reiterated Türkiye’s continued support for the Somali people in their struggle against terrorism, underlining the importance of national unity in ensuring Somalia’s stability and success in counterterrorism efforts.
